The Rise and Fall of Facial Hair

Of all the things we are born with, it seems that nothing is fought as hard and on a daily basis as facial hair, both genders have their issues with facial hair, and it looks as if people are busy shaving or plucking their facial hair for hundreds of years, and with the advance of technology, they started using more advanced ways of doing so, one thing is certain - shaving is still a daily activity for many men around the planet, and facial hair is still something that intimidates most women.

The basic notion is that hair on the face area is associated with being a man, the male in primitive thought, is more of a man if he has more hair on the face, and a woman 0 being the opposite to man should have as little hair on the face area as possible. This is also heavily backed by nature... most males have facial hair while most females don't, so its not only a methodological idea, its the actual reality of things.

But one can not ignore the simple fact that humans have hair, and they have it on most of their body area, its not really a question of having or not having hair, but much more of a how much hair question. This puts today's obsession with hair removal in a very different light, the way that beauty is perceived had done many things to people in the past, but now it looks like the ideal of beauty has become so sanitary and hair free that most of the young generation just wants to get rid of it all, not stating if it is good or bad - this writer has his doubts.

It is difficult to believe that a visitor to planet earth in the year 2200 will discover that all human babies go through a procedure that eliminates all facial hair, or body hair, just the same as it would not make sense that everyone will have their teeth whitened. However with a growing trend of beauty treatments, facial hair removal is on the rise, and with it the solutions that technology offers.

The Basics - Facial Hair Removal - Your Option

Lets discuss the real thing first, starting with the girls, there are different facial hair removal processes for women. Compare different facial hair removal process here-

    Laser technology

It is a great solution as a facial hair removal process for women. Here is why- Laser technology is less time consuming and less pain oriented method for the most super sensitive area of a woman's body- the face. Though laser treatment for the face could take a number of sessions, each session can be as short as 20 minutes.

    Depilatory creams

Products that belong to this category disintegrate the structure of you hairs root. Thus the hair falls off your skin. As a great deal of chemical reaction is associated with this method, you may not use it on super sensitive areas like face.

    Electrolysis

In this sort of hair removal method, a low degree of electricity is applied to your skin for dismantling or otherwise stopping the growth of hair follicles. The good side of this method is that it prevents your hair from growing almost permanently. The problem of this method is- it usually takes much more time than the other regular hair removal techniques.

    Tweezing

This is the original and traditional pulling off of your hairs. The difference here is that it is done in a bit modern way. To tell the truth, this method is not fit for facial hair removal for women. In fact, pulling unwanted hairs off your face can turn out to be very harmful.

    Waxing

Advanced waxing products can be cheap yet effective lasting solutions for facial hair removals. As a normal practice, waxing is mostly used for areas like the upper lip and fine vellus. But you better be careful about not using this product over your chin.

Face is important, so do some research to find the facial hair removal process right for you, and you should definitely look into the credentials of the clinic or person that will perform the procedure.

About men and facial hair removal

It might seem strange but a lot of people who are interested in laser facial hair removal are men, even though this industry is mostly for women, this particular beauty treatment has a very strong appeal for men.

Men, as we all know, exercise facial hair removal on a daily basis, well - at least most of them. In the past few years there has been a growing trend of beauty products for men, who sole purpose is to serve the shaving experience and make it nicer, easier and healthier, from the average man going back to old traditional shaving (with rich creams and lot of time on massaging the face, using a razor and all that) to the guy who looks for the perfect exfoliator to clear his pores before he shaves, you will be surprised to find out how many men research hair removal for the face, and how much they are willing to spend for it.

But when you think about it, it makes perfect sense, if a men spends 10 minutes a day shaving, he could save himself a lot of time if he would just not shave at all (and not grow a bread, we are talking about facial hair removal here), this hour a week, 4 hours a month, 48 hours a year (thats like, ah, two days!) add up, and most men will be happy to save this time (to spend more time watching sports no doubt).

More about this trend next time.
